My Hero
A hero to me means that a person or thing has affected your life in a good way or a special way. A hero is something you will remember. It's someone who was there for you. It's a friend , or somebody who will listen to you advice. A hero is anything.
My hero is Michael Cranney. When he was alive, all he had to do was walk in the room or smile and he made my day. I guess most heroes are supposed to be family, although he wasn't exactly my family, it felt like it. Before he died I can remember the last time I saw him, we were sitting on my deck just after eating a nice lobster dinner, and he said he had a gift for me. So he pulled out a bag of golf balls. To some people this would just mean more golf balls to lose in the woods, but every time I hit one of those golf balls I remember him and everything he did for me. It's just a shame he doesn't and can't know this. Michael Cranney is a person that no one could bring down, his attitude toward life changed mine too. I just wish I could have said bye or gone to his funeral. But now I have to live with the pain. I really never knew how much he meant to me until he died.
I can remember the day I found out he had passed away... I got a phone call from my mom while hanging out with my friends. I started crying and couldn't believe what she had just told me. I then went home and cried and cried, nothing could make me stop. Except for when I saw his face and my father told me that Mr. Cranney wouldn't want me to cry over his death. What my dad said was true and I know that now. I'm grateful for meeting such a life changing person. So he will always be with me in my heart. Forever...
